QUARTZ

Quartz By Aqeel Chemical & Processing Unit

Quartz is the most abundant mineral in the Earth’s crust, commonly found in sandstones, pegmatites, granites, and other igneous rocks. It often forms veins within rock fractures, crystallizing under high heat and pressure. With its hexagonal crystal structure, hardness, chemical inertness, and high melting point, quartz is exceptionally durable and resistant to weathering.

These unique properties make quartz indispensable across a wide range of industries such as glass, ceramics, paints, foundries, filtration systems, oil well drilling, and high-tech electronics.

At Aqeel Chemical & Processing Unit, we supply Quartz in Lumps, Grits/Sands, and Powder forms, processed to meet diverse industrial specifications.

Applications of Quartz

Glass Industry

  • Silica sand (quartz) is the key raw material for manufacturing float glass, container glass, automotive glass, fiberglass, and borosilicate glass.
  • We provide high-purity quartz powder for glass production with extremely low metal oxide content, processed with heavy magnetic separators.
  • Available in mesh sizes 25–32 or particle sizes 0.1–0.3 mm, 0.3–1.2 mm, 0.5–1.0 mm, 1.2–3.0 mm.

Fused Quartz (Silica Glass)

  • Used in special high-temperature applications due to its low thermal expansion, hardness, and weathering resistance.
  • Applications include furnace tubes, crucibles, hollow glass, automotive glass, and flat glass.

Ceramics Industry

  • Essential for fireproof ceramics, porcelain, sanitary ware, wall & floor tiles, and ceramic glazes.
  • Quartz acts as the skeletal structure in ceramic bodies, improving strength, shrinkage control, and appearance.
  • Our quartz powder is available in semi-white and snow-white grades (90%+ whiteness), widely used by premium tableware manufacturers.
  • Supplied in 200#, 300#, 325# mesh sizes for ceramics applications.

Paint Industry

  • Used as a filler to improve brightness, reflectance, tint retention, durability, and resistance to dirt and cracking.
  • Low oil absorption allows higher pigment loading for better finish quality.
  • Available in mesh sizes: 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400.

Oil Well Drilling

  • Supplied as Silica Flour for cementing operations.
  • Prevents strength retrogression at high temperatures, improves cement stability, and enhances well durability.

Other Industrial Uses

  • Rubber & Putty Industry: filler material.
  • Chemical Industry: production of sodium silicate, silicon tetrachloride, and ferro-silicon.
  • Foundry & Refractories: silica ramming mass for lining.
  • Electronics: quartz crystals for semiconductors, frequency control, and circuits.
  • Optics: optical-grade quartz for lenses, laser windows, and precision devices.
  • Abrasives: stone cutting, sandblasting, linoleum flooring.
  • Filtration & Water Purification: as a filtration medium.
  • Decorative & Jewelry: quartz pebbles in various hues and sizes.
